Deep Clean vs. Standard Clean: Which Do You Need?
"Just clean everything" sounds simple until you're booking a visit and have to pick between a standard clean and a deep clean. They overlap more than you'd think — but the difference matters for both your budget and your expectations.
What a standard clean covers
A standard recurring clean handles the surfaces you touch and see every day: counters, sinks, stovetops, bathroom fixtures, floors, dusting, and trash removal. It's built to maintain a home that's already in reasonably good shape — which is exactly what it's for on a weekly or biweekly cadence.
What a deep clean adds
A deep clean goes after the buildup a standard visit doesn't touch: baseboards, door frames, light switches, interior windows and blinds, inside the fridge and oven, cabinet fronts, vent covers, and ceiling fans. It takes longer and costs more — because it's solving a different problem: resetting a home to a true baseline, not maintaining one.
So which one do you need?
- First time booking with us? Start with a deep clean. It gives your recurring visits a clean baseline to maintain, and it's the most common way new clients begin.
- Been a while since a professional clean? If it's been more than a few months, the buildup in baseboards and vents is probably past what a standard visit is built to handle.
- Already on a recurring plan? A standard clean is enough for most visits. Many clients schedule a deep clean once or twice a year as a seasonal reset.
- Moving in or out? That's its own category — see our move-in/move-out cleaning page.
